About Ultrasound & Electrotherapy
Ultrasound and electrotherapy are two complementary modalities often used alongside hands-on treatment. Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to generate gentle heat deep within soft tissue, while electrotherapy — such as TENS or muscle stimulation — uses low-level electrical currents to help ease discomfort and support muscle function.
Both are typically used alongside other treatment, rather than as standalone therapies, and are generally well tolerated. Ultrasound produces a mild warmth, while electrotherapy is usually felt as a gentle tingling or pulsing sensation.
